You have just been on an interview with the manager of the admissions department at the local hospital and things seemed to go well. The manager said it was between you and two other candidates and that you should hear something more in the next week or two. You really want this job! You remembered to shake the hand of the manager, thank her, and get her business card. A few days later you want to follow-up and thank the manager again, hoping the reconnection will bring good news. The manager’s voicemail says she will be out of the office for a few days on business, but she is checking her e-mail. You currently do not have access to your computer to send an email. In this week’s discussion you will: We know how important it is to always follow up with a thank you email to the individual you have interviewed with. Since she is out of the office would you still leave a voicemail or would you hang-up and send an email? Then provide a summary if you should send an email to the hiring manager from your phone or should you wait until you get home. Why or why not?
