Sarah Smith- Post-op Complications
You rec’d report on 19-yo Sarah Smith, admission diagnosis – 2-day post-op appendectomy with a JP drain insitu d/t perforated appendix. There is concern that there is infection at the site of the JP drain. You receive Sarah laying in bed A&Ox3, pale, and appears diaphoretic. Head-to-toe assessment completed including a specific drain and site assessment. There is evidence based on clinical findings that the JP drain site is locally infected and now has gone systemic.Â
