Conduct a workplace risk assessment and record the results, including:

 

identification of hazards and potential hazards
risk assessment
evaluation of policy/procedure in line with state/territory legislation and industry guidelines
development of risk controls and measures

 

Task 1: Conduct the Workplace Risk Assessment using Template 1 (Appendix) which is attached to this assessment task. If your workplace has a workplace risk assessment template, you may use that instead; just ensure that all the information required in Template 1 is either included or submitted to your Assessor as attachments. 

 

Task 2: After you have conducted the risk assessment, you need to rate and prioritize the risks by using Appendix 2. You must ensure that the risk controls and hazard-specific procedures are consistent with the hierarchy of control.

 

Task 3: Did your Workplace Risk Assessment establish a need for expert WHS advice? If there was, write an email to your Supervisor/Assessor. Outline the problem/s and explain what type of expert WHS advice is required.

 

If your Workplace Risk Assessment didn’t show that there was a need for expert WHS advice, your Assessor will present a risk that you will need to seek expert advice for.
