You had the children graph various toy items (cars, boats, airplanes) by how these items travel. While engaging with your Preschoolers, you noticed the childcare supervisor standing at the door watching you and the children. Following the activity and after you have tidied up, your supervisor asks to meet with you in her office. During the meeting, the supervisor tells you she thought the math activity you did with the children was age appropriate and seemed to spark their
interest. Your supervisor also shared with you that she thought at times you used “baby talk” with the Preschoolers. Saying things like “peek-a-boo boat” and “car goes bye-bye”. The supervisor says to you “this isn’t the age-appropriate language to use with preschoolers”. The supervisor also stated this wasn’t the first time she noticed you using this type of communication with the Preschoolers. The supervisor shared she can arrange a webinar on Preschool Language Development for you to watch.
