Choose an area of community services work you already work in or one you are interested in working in. For this project you will be taking on the role of an advocate for a client. Areas of advocacy include advocating for people who have a physical disability, advocating for people who have a mental disability, advocating for the elderly, advocating for parents, advocating for children in care, advocating for people who have a mental illness.

List three organisations you would contact on behalf of your client and for what purpose.
Outline how you would keep your clients informed of your progress in advocating for them.
Explain how you will maintain the privacy and confidentiality of your clients while advocating for them.
Identify a situation of risk or potential risk that this client could find themselves in, and describe what your response to this situation would be.
Describe the steps you would take to develop, implement and monitor your advocacy strategies.
Explain what your duty of care requirements will be if a child who is not the client is involved in the advocacy process, including:
How you will monitor and respond to indicators of risk
Your responsibilities when it comes to privacy, disclosure and reporting for a child at risk.
