The patient is an 11-year-old female who felt the need to get evaluated for her speech due to articulation errors. The patient was seen by the slp when she was alert and oriented for person, place, and purpose. Upon reviewing the medical history, the patient was signifacent for hearing loss. The first indication of hearing difficulty was established around 5 years of age. The evaluation showed that the pt could not produce a proper /g/, but could produce /k/. The patent also could not produce a /d/ but could produce the /t/, /b/, /f/ and /θ/. The patient could not produce a /ʔ/ and all other sounds were pretty soild. After establishing hearing loss the patient underwent a cochlear implant procedure and has attended speech therapy ever sense.
