Expectations for Literature Search and Outline of the Health Disparities Paper Assignment Objective: perform a literature search, upload a minimum of three scholarly articles, describe their search and write an outline for a scholarly paper addressing a health disparity in a vulnerable population in the United States

Method: employ drafting, revising, and editing to develop a final writing product appropriate to the nursing profession.
Research and documentation skills to develop an understanding of the topic and think critically about that topic.
Perform a literature search through the WPU Library. Then prepare an outline of the final paper. This outline should include headings corresponding to the areas listed below and will outline in phrases with bullet points all paragraphs to be written in the final paper with sources integrated for each section.
The outline should have introductory and conclusion sections. The length of the outline should be approximately 3 but maximum of 4 pages.
The title and reference pages are not included in that count.
Integrate a minimum of 3 scholarly articles in addition to other appropriate sources into the outline. All sources used must be published within 5-7 years.
You may use older sources in addition to recent sources only if the information found in these sources are key and not found in recent articles.

The draft and final paper will expand on this initial outline, incorporate suggested edits and revisions and include a detailed description one potential solution to the problem
Requirements: 1. Description of the literature search including search terms used and the databases the three scholarly articles were found in (i.e. CINAHL)
2. General Introduction
3. Rationale for selection of a specific health disparity (consider and cite HP2030 objectives used, class discussions topics, current events, etc.).
4. Thorough discussion of implications that the selected health disparity has on a selected vulnerable population (what impact does the disparity have on the population and how are they affected as a result of the disparity?).
5. Detailed discussion of the role that social determinants of health (economics, physical environment, level of education, nutrition, community support, healthcare access), inequality, discrimination and other identifiable factors relate to the selected health disparity/vulnerable population.
6. Role of Healthcare system, individual health care providers and nurses in contributing to the disparity.
7. Brief discussion of multiple potential solutions to decrease/eliminate the health disparity in the selected population. Include the role of the healthcare system and healthcare providers, including nurses, in the disparity and the solution. Include references to past/current attempts that have been undertaken.
8. Beginning discussion of how ONE selected solution to alleviate the health disparity could be realistically implemented and evaluated. Include the role of nursing in the solution.
9. Conclusion.
10. Use of scholarly journal articles or textbooks is preferred over web-based resources. HP2030 and other government websites acceptable over commercial websites.
