In the assigned video, Joy Doll talked about the importance of making changes within yourself so that you can positively influence your environment. She shared six lessons that are important for interprofessional collaboration that she learned from working within an interdisciplinary healthcare team. The six lessons she shared were:

b. Don’t listen to “no”
c. Get over yourself
d. Psychological safety: feeling safe when speaking up with your colleagues
e. Define the culture around you: “everyone teaches, everyone learns” and “assume positive intent”
f. Know yourself
Purpose: In contrast to what Joy Doll says, you CAN be God’s gift to your interprofessional colleagues and patients through your role as a nurse and interprofessional collaborator because of your biblically based Christian worldview. By completing this discussion board forum, you will be able to identify your areas of strengths and weaknesses in interprofessional collaboration and describe how you can make improvements to be an effective leader and member of the interprofessional collaborative team.
1. Based on what you learned from the TED talk this week, identify which one of the six lesson areas you need to improve in the most so that you can be a better collaborator with your interprofessional colleagues. From what you have learned about interprofessional collaboration so far in this course, and from the TED talk, give an example of at least one way you can improve in the area you identified.
2. Identify which one of the six lesson areas that is an area of strength for you. Give an example of how you will be successful in interprofessional collaboration in that area.
