Practice Gap
The prevalence of catheter associated UTIs is one of the main health issues in the critical care unit’s facility (CAUTI). In healthcare settings, CAUTI make for 9% of all nosocomial infections, according to Van Decker et al. (2021). In the critical care units, these infections are common, and they affect patient outcomes. For instance, CAUTI causes patients to stay in the hospital for a longer period. They also inflict harm, and sometimes even death.

Describe the scope of the project, including the proposed project timeframe.
Since nursing is an evidence-based profession, it is my responsibility as a DNP to translate current research findings and assess the many approaches put forth to enhance patient outcomes. This project’s goal is to assess how well the CAUTI bundled approach to care works in reducing the number of CAUTI cases in intensive care units for inpatients over a 12-week period.
